Here are a few favorites from Danielle and Brian’s engagement session at Alyson’s Orchard in Walpole, NH. We had a beautiful October fall day and had a wonderful time exploring the many great photo opportunities at Alyson’s. Danielle and Brian will have their reception at Alyson’s Orchard later this fall, and I’m definitely looking forward to being a part of their day.

Here are a few photos from a great engagement session last week with Katelyn & Matt. We explored a local park right near Katelyn’s home in Manchester, NH, and we found beautiful light and great backgrounds for some nice portraits of the two of them. We also laughed a lot and had fun working together.

They will be getting married on New Year’s Eve in Nashua, NH. I can tell it’s going to be a great way to spend New Year’s Eve!

Here are a few photos from Amanda and Matt’s engagement session in Keene this weekend. We started out in and around Colony Mill Marketplace and then headed over to the Ashuelot River Park. As the weather forecast predicted, the day was “sunny and delightful.”

I enjoyed spending some time photographing and getting to know Matt and Amanda before their wedding at Stonewall Farm this August. I could see them relax in front of the camera as the session went on, and I think we got some great photos that really capture the two of them.

I always love it when I get to do an engagement session at a place that is meaningful to a couple, and it was really nice last week to spend time with Jenny & Mike in an area close to there home. We walked from there cute house in Somerville to Harvard Square, and found endless photographic opportunities. We even had a chance to get pizza and a drink together when we were done!

Jenny and Mike were a lot of fun to work with. I can’t wait for their wedding this summer. They are getting married at one of my favorite venues, Cobb Hill Estate in New Hampshire this July. Wonderful people in a beautiful place. What more could a wedding photographer ask for?

We laughed a lot, and that’s a good thing. I always try to have fun as a big part of the equation when I’m photographing people, and we definitely achieved that goal during Emily and Bo’s engagement session at Stanley Park. Although it was a bit windy, it was a beautiful early spring day with some wonderful color in the park.

Getting to know couples before the wedding is one of the great things about an engagement session, and I now feel I know Emily & Bo well enough to know we are going to have a lot of fun at their wedding! They will be getting married in early October in Belchertown, MA with the reception in Northampton. I can’t wait!

You can tell a lot about people by their reaction to adverse weather. When I spoke to Kelley about her engagement session beforehand, we hoped for either some fun photos in the snow (she and Ross are both avid skiers), or photos with signs of the beginnings of spring. Well, we had neither. New England dished out some of it’s worst gray, drizzly, mud season weather. Kelley and Ross were undaunted by this, however, and we had a great time making beautiful photos outdoors in and around Colony Mill Market Place and at the Ashuelot River Park in Keene.

One of the things I  love about engagement sessions is getting to know a couple before their wedding, and I really enjoyed spending time with Kelley and Ross. I discovered one of the things we have in common is a love of the outdoors. They are getting married at the Mountain Top Inn in Vermont in June, which is such a fitting outdoor venue for them to celebrate their love. I can’t wait!

The rain just doesn’t seem to let up in New England this summer, but that didn’t deter Ana and Don during their engagement session. We were able to find a little cover while shooting in Look Park, and we made some great photos that really capture the love that they feel for each other.

We had a lot of fun working together, and I’m looking forward to photographing their wedding in just a few days. The weather forecast for their wedding day looks much nicer!

I had a sense I would really enjoy working with Kim and Craig from the moment I first met them, and that was feeling was confirmed during their engagement session this week. We had a welcome break from the rain here in New England, and for a change I actually had to hide from the sun a little during our morning session at the Keene Country Club. Their wedding will be there next year, so it was a good opportunity for the three of us to take a look at the photographic opportunities we would have.

We had lots of fun and laughs. This session got me really excited to be their wedding photographer.

I had the opportunity to get to know Courtney and Derek this past weekend, a wonderful couple I will be photographing on their wedding day in September. We had perfect light for a fun engagement session at the base of Surry Mountain, just a couple of miles down the road from my home. Here are a few photos from the session. I can tell I’m going to enjoy photographing their wedding.
