I first met Katie several years ago when she was teaching at my children’s preschool, and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph her wedding this past weekend. She and Josh had a beautiful Vermont country wedding in Clarendon, VT. They got married in a field by a pond with the Green Mountains in the background. They could not have asked for a more beautiful day for a wedding, and being surrounded by their friends and family made it such a wonderful day of celebration.

Here are a few highlights from the day.

Kelli and Damian’s Wedding

Kelli & Damian had a wonderful day for their wedding at the Four Chimneys Inn in Bennington, Vermont this past weekend. It was the type of late summer day–one of my favorite times of year–that had just enough coolness in the air to remind you that fall is coming. There was a little surprise of a brief rain shower during the ceremony, but it wasn’t enough to put a damper on the day, and everyone had a very positive attitude about it.

Kelli and Damian chose to see each other before the ceremony, and I had a great time photographing them in all of the beautiful locations on the property of the Inn. I also really enjoyed photographing the amazing colors and thoughtfulness of all the details that went into the day. Kelli, Damian, and all of their friends and family were such a pleasure, and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to be a part of their day.

There were many excellent locations for portaits at the Inn, including this great hammock by the pond.

April and Eric’s Vermont Wedding

What an amazing day April and Eric had for their wedding in Vermont. The weather during the day was very similar to the weather we had during their engagement session, the worry of a little rain early in the day quickly squelched by an absolutely beautiful day as the skies cleared.

They had their ceremony at Mead Chapel on the campus of Middlebury College, which was significant for them as Middlebury grads. The reception was at April’s brother’s house in South Burlington, VT, which had beautiful views of Lake Champlain and the mountains.

April, Eric, and all of their friends and family were such wonderful people to work with during this wedding. We had lots of fun, and I really happy with all of the photos we captured. Here’s a preview of some of my favorites.

I saw a beautiful sunset happening, so I quickly grabbed April and Eric for a quick photo across the street. Their first sunset as a married couple!

April and Eric’s Vermont Engagement Session

Raging rivers, muddy trails, a tree house and beautiful evening skies made for an adventurous and fun engagement session with April and Eric in Burlington, Vermont. On my way to meet them, I drove through the kind of driving rainstorm that makes you turn your windshield wipers on high and slow down so you can see where the road is. Needless to say, I was little worried abut the weather for this engagement session. I was relieved the weather broke right when I arrived in Burlington.

We first headed to a small park where we walked down the trail to a small creek. Both were an adventure after the heavy rain, but we had fun laughing and making our way to and into the river. We finished the session at Red Rocks Park in Burlington by the tree house and down on the lake.

Engagement sessions are always a great chance for me to get to know a couple before their wedding, and after this session, I know the three of us will be ready for whatever adventure awaits on their wedding this July!

Kelley & Ross’s Vermont Wedding

Kelley and Ross had such a wonderful day for their wedding at the Mountain Top Inn in Chittenden, VT. I had gotten to know them during their engagement session in Keene, and I knew I was going to enjoy photographing their wedding.

They chose to see each other before the ceremony, and we were able to take advantage of the many great locations for photos. Their ceremony was at the Mountain Top’s White Birches house, and there were some really nice places for portraits of the two of them right around the house.

They had a wonderful dinner down at the Inn, and then headed up to the Jewel House for the cake cutting and dancing & music.

Kelley and Ross are so happy and in love, and it was such a great honor to be able to capture all of the beauty that was a part of their wedding day.

For the cake cutting and dancing, the wedding party moved to the Jewel House at the Mountain Top, and we were treated to some beautiful evening mountain light as Kelley and Ross arrived.

Brie and Alex’s Vermont Wedding

Brie and Alex had their wedding at The Henry House, a beautiful venue in North Bennington, VT. There was heavy rain in the forecast for the day, but they were fortunate the timing of the forecast was slightly off; the rain held off just long enough for their ceremony and photos before the reception.

It was clear how excited Brie and Alex were for their wedding, and it was such an honor to be able to capture their love and celebration on their wedding day.

The Henry House in North Bennington, VT was a beautiful venue for Brie & Alex’s wedding.

Melissa & Kris’s Vermont Wedding

There was a lot of excitement and anticipation for this wedding, and it was such a beautiful day for Melissa & Kris. I first met them about a year ago, and I’ve enjoyed getting to know them during that time. I connect with many of my clients on Facebook, and I really enjoyed seeing their countdowns and love notes to each other during the last year. They are such a happy couple in love, and they had the wedding day they dreamed of.

Their ceremony was at Saint Mary’s Church in Springfield, VT with the reception in Saxtons River, VT. The photography on their wedding day was really important to Melissa and Kris, so we also took some time to get some nice portraits of them at Herrick’s Cove and in Saxtons River before the reception.

Capturing love, celebration and emotion is what I love about being a wedding photographer, and this day was full of so many of these wonderful moments.

Kelli and Damian’s Engagement Session

Here are a few photos from Kelli and Damian’s engagement session at their home in Walpole, NH. I always love doing engagement sessions where a couple lives because it has such meaning and significance in their lives. A beautiful garden, great towering trees and an open field across the street from their home all made excellent locations for some very nice portraits.

This engagement session definitely got me excited for their wedding this September at the Four Chimneys Inn in Bennington, VT.

James and Anne Marie’s Engagement Session

Railroad bridges, Vermont countryside, warm evening sun, rustic buildings and a beautiful couple in love made for an outstanding engagement session with Anne Marie and James. They wanted the location for their engagement session to be something meaningful to them, so we spent the evening taking advantage of all of the great photo opportunities right around their new home in Norwich, VT.

Not only did we create some nice photos, but the three of us had a lot of fun working together. Can’t wait until August!

Meghan & Matt’s Vermont Wedding

What a great day Meghan and Matt had for their wedding this past Saturday! They got married at the Mountain Top Inn in Chittenden, VT, a beautiful outdoor venue with incredible views of the mountains. They both got ready for their wedding at the Inn, so the were some really nice opportunities to capture candid photos of each of them before their wedding. I always love being a part of all the great emotion and energy as the bride and groom are preparing for their day. The room for these photos also had wonderful natural light, which is one of my favorite types of lighting.

Their ceremony was at the Inn’s overlook site, which had amazing views as the photos below show. It was such a beautiful ceremony. Meghan arrived in a horse-drawn carriage, and the mountains made for a very scenic backdrop for the ceremony. We took time for a few group portraits on the hill followed by some fun photos with the wedding party and bride and groom down by the lake and then back at the Inn. They had a great reception with lots of dancing and celebration in the tent right next to the Inn.

A beautiful couple, scenic venue with great photographic opportunities, and wonderful family and friends all made for the type of Vermont country wedding I so love to photograph.
