It’s great to see one of my photos featured as the opening shot in the special wedding section of Southern Vermont Arts & Living magazine that just hit news stands today. The article focuses on weddings in southern Vermont.

A Vermont wedding I photographed was featured in the magazine last spring, and it’s really nice to see my work published again this year.

You can tell a lot about people by their reaction to adverse weather. When I spoke to Kelley about her engagement session beforehand, we hoped for either some fun photos in the snow (she and Ross are both avid skiers), or photos with signs of the beginnings of spring. Well, we had neither. New England dished out some of it’s worst gray, drizzly, mud season weather. Kelley and Ross were undaunted by this, however, and we had a great time making beautiful photos outdoors in and around Colony Mill Market Place and at the Ashuelot River Park in Keene.

One of the things I  love about engagement sessions is getting to know a couple before their wedding, and I really enjoyed spending time with Kelley and Ross. I discovered one of the things we have in common is a love of the outdoors. They are getting married at the Mountain Top Inn in Vermont in June, which is such a fitting outdoor venue for them to celebrate their love. I can’t wait!

I am excited to see the current issue of Southern Vermont Arts & Living features a Vermont wedding I photographed last summer. It was a beautiful wedding in Westminster, Vermont that combined eastern and western traditions.

September in New England is such a wonderful time for a wedding, and Courtney and Derek had it at its best. Their wedding was at Courtney’s aunt’s house in Reading, Vermont, a perfect venue for this blue sky day. There were outstanding photographic opportunities, and I had a great time capturing memories of their day.

The Vermont countryside is always a great venue for a wedding day, but what made Brinda & Peter’s day memorable was the unique combination of eastern and western traditions. Brinda and her family brought the great color and spirit of their Bengali heritage to Peter’s kind and thoughtful family on their farm in Westminster, Vermont, which has been in his family for decades. It was a day filled with love, celebration, happiness, and lots of fun. There was no shortage of outstanding photographic opportunities, and it is this kind of day that makes my job as a wedding photographer so enjoyable. Brinda, Peter and their famies are wonderful people, and I truly enjoyed photographing their wedding.
