The best weddings Holly & John attended were those with a laid-back, casual feel. It was no surprise they wanted the same for their wedding. With the Green Mountains as their backdrop and a barn full of rustic elegance, Holly & John’s vision to have a romantic, yet peaceful day for their guests (and themselves!) came together for their rustic Mountain Top Inn and Resort wedding.
Wearing a diamond necklace her grandfather gave her grandmother, Holly’s “something old and borrowed” was the perfect accessory to her organza and lace wedding dress. Her bridesmaids wore lilac dresses, each in a different style. They complemented each other while showing their individuality. The groom and groomsmen pulled the rest of the wedding-party look together with grey suits and lilac ties. John even had lilac on his saddle shoes. Subtle details, such as those, did not go unnoticed.
The DIY elements added to the elegance of the day. From antique silver-painted lantern centerpieces to photo boards of their parents’ and grandparents’ weddings to serving their favorite drink and sharing their favorite maple candy, every detail had meaning. Wanting to be more practical about their wedding décor and wanting to use as much as possible after their wedding, Holly & John incorporated a lot of items they already had. The end result was a day that showed off Holly & John’s personalities perfectly.
Sharing their love for each other along with all their favorite things, Holly & John’s wedding was a day they and their guests will never forget. So much love was packed into one day. It’s no wonder the time flew by! I was honored to preserve such an important moment in their lives.
